CTOnews.com October 11, HMD Global (Nokia Mobile) CEO Florian Seiche has announced his resignation, he announced his decision to leave on LinkedIn, his departure was not announced through the company channel, which is somewhat surprising.

Usually, the decision to leave an executive is planned in advance, so someone has taken over the position before the announcement.

HMD provided Nokiamob with an internal statement of Florian Seiche's departure, saying that "Florian Seiche, HMD Global's chief executive, has left the HMD business to seek other opportunities. We would like to thank him for all he has done for HMD and wish him every success in the future."

Nokia is no longer what it used to be in smartphones, and HMD Global still has four years to use the Nokia brand, and when it expires, it can either renew its license or abandon it.

Florian Seiche posted a resignation statement on his LinkedIn account:

I am extremely proud of what we have achieved at HMD over the past six years. It's time for me to move on to the next chapter, when I'm leaving as CEO of HMD.

I want to say, thank you, all the extremely dedicated and talented HMD employees, and my leadership team, HMD board and shareholders. Heartfelt thanks to all our strategic partners and our strong global customer network. We are also very grateful to our consumers and fans for their love, loyalty and insight.

It was a wonderful journey. Together we continue to innovate and clearly lead the global feature phone market, including many of the much-loved iconic Nokia "classic" designs. Our efforts in unique Android smartphones and tablets are focused on achieving our vision of "connecting the world without spending money."

We achieved smartphone leadership in South Africa in 2021, won a strong smartphone market position in the UK and US, and our success in corporate and services is also a key milestone, all with the tremendous commitment, creativity and execution of our team.

The recently launched Circular is our sustainable subscription service designed to reward users for extending the life of their phones with sustainability at the core, which shows that we are innovating for the entire smartphone product line. As I move on to the next chapter, I wish HMD every success in the future.
