Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Sentinel for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, October 11, Microsoft today released Windows 11 preview versions of Build 22621.741 and Build 22623.741 (KB5018503) for Beta channels.

Build 22623.741 = launch to enable new features.

Build 22621.741 = New features are turned off by default.

Windows Preview users who were previously in the Build 22622.601 version and did not detect the Build 22623.730 version will detect the new version after restarting their computer.

Reminder: internal test users who previously used Build 22622 will be automatically transferred to Build 22623 by enabling packages. The enable package artificially increases the updated version number, and the new feature is introduced and enabled to make it easier to distinguish it from the device that turns off the function by default. This approach is used only for the Beta test channel and does not indicate any changes or plans for the eventual introduction of functionality.

CTOnews.com learned that internal testers using groups (Build 22621.xxx) with new features turned off by default can check for updates and choose to install updates with new features (Build 22623.xxx).

Fix in Build 22623.741 [tablet-optimized taskbar]

Note: these fixes will be displayed only if the tablet is enabled on the device-the optimized taskbar. Tablets-the optimized taskbar is still being promoted to Windows Insiders and is not yet available to everyone.

Fixed that if there is no running window on the desktop, the taskbar sometimes collapses, and it should be expanded.

Fixed an issue that caused the gadget or notification center (respectively) to overlap or appear to be truncated by the taskbar when using left or right edge gestures.

Fixed an issue that caused the tablet-optimized taskbar explorer.exe to crash if you entered an overflowing pop-up window.

[system Tray Update]

Note: these fixes are displayed only if a tablet with system tray updates is enabled on the device-the optimization taskbar. Tablet-optimized taskbar and system tray are still available to Windows Insiders and are not yet available to everyone.

Fixed an issue where Quick setup items can now be rearranged by touch again.

Fixes in Build 22621.741 and Build 22623.741 fix problems that affect the server manager. When several disks have the same UniqueId, it may reset the wrong disk.

Fixed localization of some settings files. These issues may prevent users from creating installation media for non-English languages.

Known problem [generic]

Microsoft is investigating reports that some internal testers' audio stopped working during a recent Beta channel build.

[tablet-optimized taskbar]

The taskbar sometimes flashes when switching between desktop posture and tablet posture.

When switching between desktop posture and tablet posture, the taskbar transition to the touch-optimized version takes longer than expected.

When you use the gesture in the lower right corner to view the Quick Settings, the taskbar sometimes stays in the expanded state rather than being eliminated to the collapsed state.
