According to foreign media reports, Rivian, a US electric vehicle start-up, plans to release its results for the third quarter of 2022, ending September 30, on November 9, Eastern time.

Founded in 2009, Rivian is an emerging electric car maker whose investors include Ford, Amazon and Cox Motor Co., and is considered one of the most threatening competitors to Tesla.

It is reported that Rivian's R1T electric pickup truck began to accept orders in November 2020 and began production and delivery in September 2021. The company's R1S electric SUV was launched in November 2018 and delivery began in August this year.

In the first half of 2022, the company delivered 5694 cars. In the third quarter of 2022, the company produced and delivered 7363 and 6584 cars, respectively, a new record.

By contrast, in the second quarter of 2022, the company produced 4401 cars and delivered 4467. In the first quarter of 2022, the company produced only 2553 cars and delivered 1227.

In August, the company announced the removal of the R1T electric pickup truck and the R1s electric SUV's "Discovery" option package (Explore Package), which means that the company's electric car has removed the cheapest entry-level configuration in the option package.
