The geography teacher may make you lean to the right in the northern hemisphere and to the left in the southern hemisphere, but it may be difficult for him to tell you why. But this effect is very weak on Earth. How weak is it? If you drop an object freely from a height of 200m at 40 degrees north latitude, then the falling body will only be 4.75cm to the east. Therefore, this effect mainly has an impact on large-scale phenomena.
