CTOnews.com, October 9 (Xinhua)-- in August, Acura launched its PRECISION EV concept car, a brother of Honda's Prologue. It will be built based on GM's Altenon platform and will be positioned as an all-electric SUV. The new car is also the brand's first all-electric model.

CTOnews.com has reported that Acura officials say the new car will be named ZDX and will be released and mass produced in 2024. In addition, the future model will also offer a sports version of the TYPE S.

The existing media have taken road test photos of the new car, which will have slender headlights and a huge front grille, very similar to the Chevrolet trailblazer EV, and its windshield column and B-pillar, C-pillar layout are very similar to Lyriq, except that the D-pillar is a unique design.

In terms of interior design, the new Acura ZDX looks likely to have a central layout similar to that of the Honda Prologue, and the only spy photos show that the central suspension touch screen style is basically the same as the Honda Prologue, possibly including an 11.3-inch suspension center control screen and an 11-inch LCD dashboard.

Honda has already signed a partnership agreement with GM to build a new all-electric SUV using GM's Ultium platform, so ZDX will be produced together with Cadillac Lyriq SUV at an assembly plant in Springhill, Tennessee, and is expected to be built using the same battery, electric control and drive technology as Cadillac Lyriq.

The new Acura ZDX is expected to use a rear motor design, with a basic version of 340hp and a possible all-wheel drive version of 500hp. It is expected to use a 102.0 kWh battery pack with a range of 312mph (502.12 km).

In addition, Acura has confirmed that the ZDX Type S is planned, which is likely to be a more powerful all-wheel drive model. Of course, Acura has not released any details yet, please look forward to the follow-up.
