The plant began to provide recovery and refining services for platinum group metals in membrane electrode assemblies of Shanghai Yun Volume New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., one of the hydrogen fuel cell stack manufacturers.

The initial refining capacity is not large, and Zhuang Xin Wanfeng has sufficient production capacity and capacity to increase the capacity to meet the needs of platinum group metal recovery and refining in the future hydrogen fuel cell market.

China is the market with the greatest demand for platinum group metals, but at the same time, the self-yield is very low. The recovery of platinum group metals is the key to deal with this challenge. As a manufacturer of automotive exhaust catalysts and hydrogen fuel cells, Zhuangxin Wanfeng Group uses nearly 80% of the platinum group metals supplied internally.

The global annual growth rate of secondary supply of platinum group metals is expected to be about 3-5%. Compared with the original extraction of platinum group metals from mines, the cost of secondary recovery is lower and the carbon footprint is lower (up to 98% reduction). The recovery of platinum group metals can also ensure the supply of these scarce resources, which is especially important when the global supply chain is not normal.
