The off-screen camera has higher requirements for the light transmission of the panel. Samsung Electronics' Galaxy Z Fold 3 folding screen phone uses the off-screen camera, but in order to make up for the light transmission limitation of the yellowish polyimide substrate, Samsung shows that the pixels of the panel near the camera are reduced to 1877pixels per inch, only half of the 374pixels in other areas. although this measure increases the light transmission area, it also has obvious shortcomings. Even when the camera is not in use, the area where the camera is located under the screen is obviously different from other areas.

Using transparent polyimide substrates to produce OLED panels, Samsung display can increase the pixels of the panel in the area where the camera is located to match other areas.
