Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, October 9, 2022, 07:43 on October 9, 2022, China successfully launched the advanced space-based solar observatory Kuafu-1 from the Jiuquan Satellite launch Center using a long March II D carrier rocket, and the satellite entered the scheduled orbit smoothly, and the launch mission was a complete success.
Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory (Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory, referred to as ASO-S) is a comprehensive special satellite for solar exploration independently put forward by Chinese solar physicists. It is another space science satellite developed and launched by the space science pilot project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences after "Wukong", "Mozi", "discerning eye", "practice 10", "Taiji 1" and "Huairou 1". It has achieved a great-leap-forward breakthrough in China's space-based solar exploration satellite.
According to the release by Changchun Institute of Optics and Machinery, the Lehmann Alpha Solar Telescope led by Chen Bo, a deputy general engineer team of Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics, is one of the three payloads on the special ASO-S satellite (Kuafu 1) led by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and it is the first space solar Lehmann Alpha band coronometer in China. The instrument consists of a dual-band coronometer and a two-band solar imager. The Raman Alpha coronometer adopts an innovative dual-band design. The solar imager covers both Lehmann Alpha band and 360nm band, which can simultaneously monitor the activity and variation of the sun from the solar surface to the coronal region with a radius of 2.5 sun, and provide data for scientific research and space weather prediction research.
CTOnews.com learned that the satellite of the Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory is mainly used to study the causal relationship between solar flare bursts, coronal mass ejection and solar magnetic field, and provides data support for space weather forecasting.
According to the previous information, the Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory weighs 888KG, operates in the solar synchronous orbit of 720KM, carries three payloads, and has a design life of more than 4 years and a development time of more than 5 years. It is China's first comprehensive special satellite for solar exploration independently put forward by Chinese solar physicists.
