CTOnews.com, October 9 (Xinhua)-- Apple will release the official version of iPadOS 16 (or iPadOS 16.1) to the public in October, but users still face several problems with Bug when using the new front-end scheduling feature.

In Apple's recently released iPadOS 16.1 developer preview / public beta version of Beta 5, developers Steve Troughton-Smith and MacStories editor-in-chief Federico Viticci highlighted the various UI problems they still face from time to time when using front-end scheduling, including the disappearance of the Dock bar when rotating iPad, the content cannot be scaled properly when resizing the window, the keyboard input method can not be enabled in some applications, and a black border appears around the window. In addition, dragging the title bar to move the window still sends the drag event to the application itself. This also conflicts with sliding returns. There are still problems with desktop use.

In August, Viticci criticized Apple for being "fundamentally misleading" about pre-stage scheduling. The feature improved over the next few weeks, but as you can see from the latest Beta 5 beta, there are still a number of problems even as iPadOS 16 is about to be released to the public.

Apple recently extended pre-stage scheduling to older iPad Pro models 2018 (A12X) and 2020 (A12Z), although it does not have external display support, which will limit the use of four applications on built-in monitors. Apple has also delayed external display support for the M1 iPad model, which is not expected until later this year.

CTOnews.com learned that front-end scheduling allows users to open up to four applications with overlapping windows on the iPad display to improve the multitasking experience. There is also a modified front-stage schedule on macOS 13 Ventura to keep the window in the front and middle.

Apple said the iPadOS 16 would be released in October, but did not confirm a date. The software update will be marked iPadOS 16.1, and it may be released with the official version of iOS 16.1 of iPhone because these updates share the same Build version number.
