BYD, which produces the whole vehicle, is also an important battery supplier. Their blade batteries have been supplied to a number of manufacturers.

As the demand for electric vehicles increases, so does the demand for batteries, boosting the performance of battery manufacturers. The latest report from the research institute also shows that the installed capacity of the world's top 10 electric vehicle battery manufacturers all increased in August compared with the same period last year, especially among the major domestic battery manufacturers, all of which exceeded 100%.

According to a report by research institute SNE Research, in August this year, six of the top 10 electric vehicle battery manufacturers came from domestic manufacturers, namely, Ningde Times, BYD, China New Airlines, Guoxuan Hi-Tech, Xinwanda and Honeycomb Energy.

Specifically, Ningde Times is the largest supplier, with 18GWh installed in August and 7.9GWh in the same period last year, up 128.6% from 32.7% in the same period last year to 39.3%.

BYD, which introduced blade batteries, remained the second-largest electric vehicle battery maker in August, surpassing LG New Energy for the second month in a row, installing 6.5GWh in August, up 158.7 per cent from 2.5GWh in the same period last year, with its share rising from 10.5 per cent to 14.3 per cent.

Among the other four manufacturers, China New Airlines installed 1.9GWh in August, up 156.7% from the same period last year, and its share increased to 4.2%; Guoxuan Hi-Tech installed 1.4GWh, up 112% from the same period last year, and its share increased to 3%; Xinwanda electric car battery installed in August was 0.9GWh, an increase of 413.7% over the same period last year, and its share increased to 1.9%. The installed capacity of Honeycomb Energy was 0.6GWh, an increase of 114.9 per cent over the same period last year, and its share increased to 1.3 per cent.
