9to5Mac interviewed the Apple Watch user and said he found that the Apple Watch worn on his wrist was much hotter than usual, then he found that the back of the watch had cracked and the watch screen showed a warning that it needed to be turned off due to high temperature. The user was at home with a room temperature of about 21 degrees Celsius.

The user said that when he found out at that time, he immediately called Apple support to explain the situation, and the call was eventually transferred to a manager, who recorded it for further investigation. But then Apple didn't offer any solutions or suggestions, just told him not to touch the watch until he received a reply from the company.

The next morning, however, the condition of the watch deteriorated further. The user woke up to find that the watch felt hotter and the heat had shattered the display screen of the device. When the user picked up the watch to take a picture and sent it to Apple, the watch immediately began to crackle. Then, as he threw the watch out of the window, the watch "exploded" and left burn marks on the user's sofa. The user finally went to the emergency room for fear of lead poisoning, but the lead content of Apple Watch was not actually enough to cause poisoning. The user went to the emergency room only out of concern.

Then he contacted Apple again to find out the latest situation. He was told that the case would be a "top priority" and that he would receive an update by Monday. He then received a reply from Apple, which arranged for someone to retrieve the watch and said it was being sent to its laboratory for further testing.
