CTOnews.com, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) Foxconn, which makes technology products for third-party companies, seems to be planning to apply the same model to its new car manufacturing business.

Fujikang has announced an agreement with Los Angeles-based electric car startup INDIEV (founded in 2017) to build a prototype for its first mass-production car at its recently acquired plant in Ohio, formerly GM's Lodstown plant.

The two companies have officially signed a memorandum of understanding to build a car called "Indi One" in Ohio (announced in October 2021), and the partnership may also be extended to future models and actual full production. The agreement only involves the manufacture of prototype cars needed for testing, not the mass production of finished models.

According to public sources, the Indi One prototype is equipped with a large 95 kilowatt-hour battery pack that is expected to have a range of 275 miles (442km) and can accelerate to 60 miles in 5.5 seconds. CTOnews.com learned that its target proposal price is about $45000 (about 319000 yuan) for Standard Tesla Model 3.

Jerry Hsiao, chief product officer of Foxconn, said:
