For example, Microsoft recently discovered that two virtualization features of Windows 11 may affect the system's gaming performance. Fortunately, gamers can choose to turn them off, but that means sacrificing security.

Microsoft said, "Microsoft's use of virtualization in Windows 11 includes Hypervisor-protected code integrity (HVCI), also known as memory integrity (Memory Integrity), and virtual machine platform (VMP). As part of ongoing testing and user feedback, Microsoft has found that turning on memory integrity and VMP may have a performance impact in some scenarios and some configured game devices."

CTOnews.com learned that VMP and memory integrity are important components of Windows 11 systems. VMP is primarily concerned with providing core virtual machine services for Windows, while memory integrity or HVCI ensures that the drivers installed are secure and helps prevent malicious elements from implanting malicious code into the user's system. Microsoft has enabled these two virtualization features by default on the system, however, Microsoft points out that users have "choice and control to configure their computers to meet their specific needs", including disabling the above features. although this means exposing the system to possible threats.

So far, there are no other alternatives to protect your computer when VMP and memory integrity are disabled. However, Microsoft points out that they don't have to be turned off permanently, and that those who want to give priority to the game experience can disable them before playing the game and reactivate them after playing the game.

If you can take the risk, you can type Core Isolation in the Windows search to close the Memory Integrity, select Memory Integrity from the list of results that appear, and the system will launch the Windows security application, and then go to the core isolation page, where you can turn off the memory integrity function and need to restart the computer to apply these changes.

As for VMP, you can type "Windows features" in the Windows search and select the "turn on or off Windows feature (Turn Windows features on or off)" option, then open a list of Windows features, find the item marked "Virtual Machine platform (Virtual Machine Platform)", uncheck it, click the "OK" button, and then restart the computer.
