CTOnews.com, October 6, 2010. Samsung announced a new PM9C1a SSD at this year's Tech Day 2022, which supports PCIe 2022.

Samsung said it is a new DRAM-free solid-state drive that supports both PCIe 4.0 and 5.0. In addition, Samsung has not released other details yet.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung pointed out at the Tech Day 2022 event that its ninth generation V-NAND is under development and is scheduled for mass production in 2024. By 2030, Samsung envisions more than 1000 layers of NAND stacked to better support future data-intensive technologies. Samsung also announced that the world's highest capacity 1Tb TLC V-NAND will be available to customers by the end of this year.

In addition, Samsung said that as artificial intelligence and big data applications drive demand for faster and higher capacity memory, Samsung will provide greater storage density by accelerating the transition to QLC, while further improving energy efficiency to support more sustainable customer operations.
