CTOnews.com, Oct. 5, according to the West Rail Information release, the Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission released a report: recently, the National Railway Group, together with the Shaanxi Provincial people's Government, the Sichuan Provincial people's Government and the Chongqing Municipal people's Government, approved the preliminary design of the Ankang-Chongqing section of the Xi'an-Chongqing high-speed railway (Tiejian letter (2022) 418), indicating that the project has met the full conditions for construction.

The line starts from Ankang hub, through Sichuan Dazhou, Guang'an, to Chongqing hub, simultaneous construction of the northern section of Fanling to Wanzhou. The new line from Ankang West to Beibei South is 449.27 km, and that from Fan Yan to Wanzhou is 88.99km.

CTOnews.com learned that the entire line is planned to be built with high-speed rail, dual lines and a speed of 350km / h, with 11 stations in Ankangxi, Langao, Chengkou, Fan Kuang, Xuan Hannan, South Dazhou, Dazhu, Guang'an East, East Hechuan, Beibei South and West Chongqing, and Kaizhou Station in the north section from Fan Yan to Wanzhou.

The total estimated investment of the project is about 121.311 billion yuan, of which about 60.707 billion yuan is in Sichuan Province.

The Ankang-Chongqing section of Xi'an-Chongqing high-speed railway is an important part of the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network of Beijing-Kunming and Baohai, and it is the main high-speed railway channel from Shaanxi Province to Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Economic Zone.
