CTOnews.com, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) Samsung is currently the number one seller of Android phones, especially in the United States, while Google's Pixel smartphones find it hard to gain the advantage of Android. According to sales data shared by market analysts, it will take Google about 60 years to sell Pixel phones to catch up with Samsung's Galaxy smartphone sales in a year.

Google has sold 27.6 million Pixel phones since it launched the Pixel series in 2016, according to a sales report by market research firm IDC. And as Bloomberg reporter @ vladsavov stressed, this is equivalent to one big 10 of Samsung's annual phone sales (2021), which means that at this rate, Google will need to continue selling Pixel phones for about 60 years to catch up with Samsung's Galaxy within 12 months.

The market believes that as long as Google does not build a huge global retail network, the Pixel series will never pose a threat to Samsung's mobile business. Google Pixel is mainly active in the United States, but even so, the Pixel series has no advantage over Samsung's Galaxy phones.

The same is true of Google's Wear OS smartwatches, where Samsung has had exclusive rights to the latest operating system versions of wearable devices for nearly a year, giving it the largest share of the Wear OS 3 market.
