CTOnews.com, Oct. 5, according to South Korean media TheElec, Samsung began to produce 89-inch MicroLED televisions in the third quarter. This is the first time Samsung uses LTPS TFT glass substrates instead of printed circuit boards for MicroLED televisions.

However, Samsung 101in and 114inch LTPS TFT MicroLED TVs have not yet started production, according to sources.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung had planned to start production of 89-inch and 101in models in May, but delayed production due to supply chain problems and low yield.

At present, the exact reason for the delay is still unclear, and the final price of the 89-inch model has yet to be announced. TheElec pointed out that Samsung set the price at around $80,000 (about 566000 yuan) before starting production, much lower than the previous MicroLED TV model, but still very expensive for a TV.

In addition, all three sizes use the 34 × 85 micron LED chip provided by PlayNitride of LED in Taiwan, which is the smallest LED chip used by Samsung so far.
