Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
The kali system is an extension of BT5's system, but it can be said that its features have been demonstrated in many aspects.
For example, kali1.05 (now 1.06), there are many wireless drivers in the kernel! Not like before.
For example, my notebook wireless card is i ntel centrino wireless-N 105, which is not recognized under BT5, but has been supported in kali.
Of course, this is not what we said in this post, our content this time is mainly for the novices of kali.
We are talking about children who install hard drives or use livecd.
(1) in fact, when we enter the system, we should pay attention to the label in the upper right corner at the beginning, whether it is very similar to the wifi signal strength on our mobile phone!
Generally speaking, when you use a built-in network card, first check to see if there is any connection information for the wireless signal. If so, congratulations! You can use it with a direct click
(2) if what you show here is that the wireless network device is not hosted, then you need to modify the following files
Vi / etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf# We changed flase to true, which is configured so that NetworkManager can recognize our Nic interface and configure it vi / etc/network/interfaces# to see if there is only one loopback, and delete them if there is anything else
As shown in the figure
Analysis:
(1) We can see such information in man NetworkManager.conf. It is mentioned above that if we set up managed=true, NetworkManager can manage the interface of the network card, so that we can connect to the wireless network through NetworkManager! When set to flase, our Nic interface will be ignored. That is, the device is not managed.
Managed=false | true
Controls whether interfaces listed in the 'interfaces' file are
Managed by NetworkManager. If set to true, then interfaces
Listed in NetworkManager are managed by
NetworkManager.
If set to false, then any interface listed in NetworkManager will be ignored by NetworkManager. Remember that
NetworkManager controls the default route, so because the inter-
Face is ignored, NetworkManager may assign the default route to
Some other interface. When the option is missing, false value
Is taken as default
(2) at the same time, we also note that there is a connection between NetworkManager and / etc/network/interfaces, which are two ways for linux to manage network connections, the former for x environments and the latter for servers (text). In order to achieve shared settings between the two
Some conventions have been made during "1" that when / etc/network/interfaces changes, NetworkManager shuts itself down, that is, the former is considered to be managed. So that it doesn't make the settings wrong.
"2" the interface can be managed when NetworkManager is set to true,NetworkManager in the above, but / etc/network/interfaces does not play an administrative role at this time
From this, we know that we should leave / etc/network/interfaces as it used to be, that is, just keep loopback. Then restart to solve the problem.
Auto loiface lo inet loopback
(3) Let's talk about the settings you need to make when you want to use software such as reaver under kali.
# find the network card you need to use. Note here that there are not many chips that can work in reaver, such as my intel here. Generally, write down the code name ifconfig wlan0 down# for the network card that needs to be used for atheroes,rtl8187,3070ifconfig#. My wireless network card here is wlan0#. With this step, your reaver and wash can be used, and then it will be the same as before.
Wash and reaver will not work until they are set up
After setting up, it works fine.
(4) if you find that there is not a single wireless signal on the NetworkManager, we need to restart the NetworkManager with the following command so that it can reidentify the interface so that it can connect to the wireless network.
/ etc/init.d/network-manager restart
