Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com After launching its first QD-OLED TV earlier this year, Samsung recently started offering its QD-OLED panels for displays. Dell (Alien), MSI and Samsung recently launched their own QD-OLED displays. Now LG is trying to enter the OLED gaming display market with its cheaper OLED panels.

According to OLED-Info, LG Display will start producing 27-inch WOLED panels for small TVs and gaming displays as early as the end of this month. LG Electronics could be LG Display's first customer, possibly launching a 27-inch OLED gaming display in the first quarter of 2023.

LG may also start manufacturing 32-inch WOLED panels by the end of this year, which are likely to be used for gaming displays rather than TVs. CTOnews.com understands that this is because 32-inch OLED TVs may cost much more than their LCD counterparts, and LG will have a hard time justifying their prices. On the other hand, the price of a 32-inch OLED display may be more affordable for gaming enthusiasts.

Upcoming gaming displays using LG's WOLED panels will compete with those using Samsung's QD-OLED technology, including Samsung's own Odyssey G8 OLED. This could be good for consumers, though, because it means OLED display prices could fall.

LG will increase production of its sub-40 inch WOLED panels to boost OLED technology even in the medium size TV segment, the report said.
