This collection should be the first standard of the 5G carrier network of the three major operators in 2022.
The last round of smart metro equipment acquisition of China Unicom was in 2020, and Huawei, ZTE, FiberHome and Xinhua won the bid. According to the result of winning the bid at that time, Huawei's bid-winning share was estimated to be more than 52%, ZTE's share was estimated to be more than 25%, and the rest was divided by FiberHome and Xinhua.
The so-called intelligent man with obvious advantages of Unicom refers to the intelligent man with communication cloud DC as the core and SR+EVPN technology, which is the 5G carrier network of China Unicom.
The previous metro network architecture faces many challenges when carrying 5G large bandwidth, cloud, cloud network convergence, SDN services, such as high cost, complex service arrangement, difficult to achieve cloud network convergence and so on. Through the innovative construction of a new generation of Spine-Leaf network architecture, expanding from layer 2 to layer 3, it is applied to the man architecture, breaking the traditional professional boundaries, supporting lightweight protocols, and supporting flexible and rapid expansion. The network level of the new architecture is reduced by an average of 45%, greatly reducing network construction and operating costs. Integrate new technologies such as SR / slicing / clock on the new equipment, integrate and improve the deployment of SR protocol by defining key technologies of converged bearer, and realize full-service converged bearer. It is the first commercial operator 5G bearer network of SR / EVPN in the industry, supporting the separation of network industry. The end-to-end SDN system deployment of cross-domain, cross-vendor and cross-switching / routing devices is realized, the service is distributed flexibly and quickly, and the opening time is reduced from sky level to minute level. SDN control system is deployed in prefectures and cities all over the country to achieve the largest national centralized control in the world. The project has formed the proposal of IETF international standards and a number of patents. The key technologies of the equipment are comprehensively self-developed to ensure national network security, solve the problem of sticking in key areas, and promote the construction of end-to-end self-controllable capabilities such as chips, protocols, equipment, platforms and so on.
Overall, the design idea of the new architecture is to build a new intelligent metropolitan area network with "simplified network structure, simplified network protocols, simplified network equipment, intelligent network control and network management" for 5G services.

In 2019, in order to verify the carrying effect of the new intelligent metropolitan area network on the existing network service, the headquarters of China Unicom, together with six network manufacturers, including Cisco, Huawei, Xinhua three, ZTE and other network manufacturers, carried out the outfield pilot project of the intelligent metropolitan area network in 10 provinces, including Guangdong, Beijing, Shandong, Jiangsu, Chongqing, etc., and verified the feasibility of the intelligent metropolitan area network for the comprehensive carrying of 5G, home width, government and enterprise services. It has accumulated practical experience for formulating the evolution strategy of man architecture in the future.
At that time, Cisco was an important partner in this pilot project. Today, domestic manufacturers have become the absolute main force.
Today, the intelligent man project of China Unicom has taken the lead in realizing the large-scale commercial deployment of SR / SRv6 full-service bearer, network-wide SDN management and control, and covering 330 local networks across the country, with the project achievement being the first in China, and the core technical indicators of man network architecture, management and control system and new equipment are in the lead in the world. In March 2022, the project "key Technologies and applications of Intelligent Metropolitan area Network" led by China Unicom won the first prize of the Science and Technology Award of China Communications Association in 2021.
"at present, the intelligent metropolitan area network has cumulatively met the carrying needs of more than 400,000 5G base stations and 160 million 5G users, supporting many innovative services of Unicom Group." In addition to the overall deployment of Unicom at the group level, in recent years, local branches of Unicom have also actively promoted the construction and landing of intelligent metropolitan area networks.
For example, on April 29, 2020, Chongqing Unicom and Huawei launched the country's first intelligent metropolitan area network 5G commercial site. The carrying capacity of the intelligent metropolitan area network is 10 times higher than that of the original carrier network, and the unit bandwidth cost is reduced by 75%. And achieve co-construction and sharing with Chongqing Telecom.
Since 2020, Hebei Unicom has invested more than 400 million yuan and more than 150 experts and technicians to transform the intelligent metropolitan area network to create a new generation of digital information infrastructure. A few days ago, Hebei Unicom Cloud Network Operation Center successfully opened the country's first intelligent metropolitan area network access cloud network cross-domain circuit.
Beijing Unicom chooses intelligent metropolitan area network to do autopilot innovation. Beijing Unicom's 5G carrier network produces hundreds of thousands of pieces of operation and maintenance data every day. By using AI association analysis in the network management and control system, embedded AI identifies abnormal network indicators, adopts million-level network index collection, 10,000-level CPU distributed parallel computing, seconds-level collection of network data, minute-level reporting. At present, Beijing Unicom has fully covered AI in intelligent metropolitan area network (5G bearer network) equipment. The hidden dangers that may exist are eliminated, and the network quality is obviously improved.
With the completion of Unicom's collection of devices in smart metropolitan areas, telecom and mobile are expected to take further actions.
