CTOnews.com, October 4 (Xinhua) Huawei launched the Watch D in December 2021, its first smartwatch with blood pressure monitoring. It went on sale in China in December last year. The wearable device was unveiled at the Mate Xs2 global event in Milan, Italy, in May, priced at 449 euros (about 3130 yuan), and then confirmed in Huawei's keynote speech in Berlin during IFA in 2022 that the device would be available in Europe. Now, Huawei has finally revealed that the Watch D smartwatch will be launched in Germany on October 12.

Huawei Watch D is similar to all other wearable devices of the manufacturer, but with major features that support the installation of special air pumps / airbags next to the strap to provide high-precision blood pressure monitoring. The company claims that the measurement of the sensor has a very low error of 3 mm Hg. Like Watch GT 3 Pro, it also supports ECG electrocardiogram.

CTOnews.com has learned that Huawei executives have confirmed the delay on several occasions because of the cumbersome review process required by the EMA European Drug Administration, which oversees and regulates pharmaceutical products across the EU.

The first European market for Huawei Watch D is Germany, and it will go on sale in Italy soon. Each country in Europe will decide whether to approve the blood pressure test wearable device on its own. This may take some time.
