Kandji's Device Harmony platform implements IT and information security functions that are not previously available on the Kandji platform. Device management, vulnerability management, endpoint detection and response, endpoint visibility, and endpoint compliance. The new platform provides the intelligence, automation, and workflow needed to support the cross-functional work of IT and information security teams.

Vulnerability management IT and information security require vulnerability intelligence linked to device management so that they can remedy the problem more quickly. The vulnerability management feature of Device Harmony provides a complete view of the security vulnerability of the entire macOS, the description, history and severity of each vulnerability, which software is affected, and the device on which the software resides. The team can take immediate action to eliminate or mitigate vulnerabilities by upgrading the application using Kandji, blocking the application, or running scripts to uninstall the application as needed. Instead of scanning periodically, Kandji uses a lightweight service built into a proprietary Kandji agent running on Mac. Kandji uses Apple's endpoint security framework to listen for application-related events to determine if new vulnerabilities have been introduced or patched-providing insight into vulnerabilities in real time.

Endpoint detection and response IT and information security teams must have access to the same data and systems so that threats can be identified and responded to as quickly as possible without adversely affecting productivity. Device Harmony's endpoint detection and response provides advanced threat detection for Mac from the moment it is powered on. The Kandji agent monitors all files and applications on the Mac in real time, providing a detailed view of detected events. The Kandji agent terminates the malicious process and quarantines any files involved.

Kandji's approach combines pre-and post-execution methods to create solutions that capture almost all types of malware. It reduces the risk that malware execution and security software cannot be stopped in time or at all. The post-execution method detects threats without seeing malware in advance. They are based on typical actions taken by malicious code during execution.

CTOnews.com has been informed that all Device Harmony features of Kandji, including endpoint detection and response, device management, and vulnerability management, will be deployed through proprietary Kandji agents. The Kandji agent is designed to be used directly on macOS because it is built with Swift. Kandji's Device Harmony platform leverages Apple technology specific to mobile device management (MDM) solutions to ensure that Kandji agents can be installed and activated at any time.

Vulnerability management and endpoint detection and response are currently only available to partial preview customers. Full availability will be available to all customers in the coming weeks. In early 2023, Device Harmony will release endpoint visibility and endpoint compliance.
