CTOnews.com, October 3 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft released Windows 8 operating system in 2012 and made drastic changes to Windows 7, but even so, there are still many conceptual designs that do not appear in the final version delivered to users.

Recently, Steven Sinofsky, former president of Microsoft's Windows division, shared some early concept maps of Windows 8 features. According to Sinofsky, the pictures were presented at the final meeting in the form of a video presentation.

As you can see from the following figure, the concept map includes the start screen of Windows 8, IE 9 browser, Office Excel, and so on. Microsoft boldly introduced the start screen in Windows 8, replacing the previous start menu, which is more suitable for touch screen users.

The concept map below also shows the widget on the right side of the screen, which you can touch with your fingers, and there is a Windows key in the lower left corner, but it has been removed from the official version of Windows 8.

The following picture shows the conceptual design of File Explorer, Multi-monitor, and Task Manager, but none of them are actually installed in the official version of Windows 8.
