TrendForce Jibang Consulting said that in terms of the market share of e-sports display flat and curved products, the share of electronic competitive surfaces increased from 41% in 2021 to 44% in 2022 and is expected to reach 46% in 2023. In addition to the increase in the supply of curved display panels and high performance-to-price ratio, the increase in the market share of Ultra-Wide (with fish screen) products is also one of the reasons to lift curved surface products.
CTOnews.com learned that the report showed that in terms of the type of e-sports display panel, VA accounted for about 48% in 2021, followed by 43%, and 9% for TN. TN's market share continues to shrink in 2022, with an estimated remaining 4%, while VA has a chance to soar to 52% when panel prices are competitive. It is worth mentioning that after Samsung display (SDC) launched QD-OLED and LGD launched White OLED e-sports display panel, OLED e-sports products also began to emerge in 2022, and the market share is expected to be about 0.4% in 2022, as panels continue to mass produce new products. Coupled with the continuous addition of brands to launch OLED products, it is expected that the market share will reach 2% in 2023.
Looking forward to the e-sports display market in 2023, it is expected that with the increasing diversity of panel supply types and brand models, the overall LCD market size of e-sports products in 2023 will become smaller, while there is still an opportunity to maintain the growth trend of shipments. TrendForce Jibang Consulting believes that the M-type product strategy will help e-sports display market to grow against the trend. First of all, low-end e-sports products become affordable, by reducing regulations and costs to narrow the product price gap with ordinary monitors. In addition, new 100Hz product lines can be added to replace the original 75Hz e-sports market. In addition, the high-end market continues to develop new technology e-sports products, such as QD-OLED, OLED and Mini LED, while enhancing consumers' experience, so that when consumers buy displays, they can focus on e-sports 's products and push up the market share of e-sports displays.
