CTOnews.com news on October 3, today, Asia's first deepwater jacket platform "Haiji No. 1" designed and built by CNOOC was officially put into operation, marking the successful unlocking of a new oil and gas development model for deepwater super-large jacket platform in China.

CTOnews.com learned that the "Haiji No.1" platform is located in Lufeng Oilfield Group in the eastern South China Sea, with a water depth of 286m, a jacket height of 302m, a total height of more than 340m and a total weight of more than 40,000 tons, setting new records for China's offshore single oil production platform in height and weight.

CNOOC said that the jacket platform is the most widely used offshore oil and gas development equipment in the world, mainly composed of three parts: pipe frame, pile leg and upper module. The jacket acts as the "foundation" of the platform, supporting the 10,000-ton upper module.

According to reports, there are thousands of jacket platforms in the world, of which only 10 are applied with a water depth of more than 280 meters. The operating water depth of the existing offshore jacket platform in China is less than 200 meters, and the development mode of "floating production device + underwater production system" is usually adopted in the sea area where the water depth is more than 200 meters. "Haiji No.1" is the first attempt to develop deepwater jacket platform in China.

At the same time, "Haiji No. 1" has been put into production of five production wells, with an initial daily output of about 2700 tons. Relying on "Haiji No.1", CNOOC will simultaneously develop two oil fields, Lufeng 15-1 and Lufeng 22-1, with a total of 14 production wells and 3 injection wells, with a peak daily output of 5000 tons of crude oil.
