As U.S. stocks tumbled, TSMC shares continued to weaken today, reaching NT $417 in early trading, hitting a new low in more than two years.

High inflation, interest rate hikes and economic recession concerns continue to hit the international stock market hard. TSMC's share price bottomed out last week after foreign investors oversold for days, falling to NT $422, a new low in two years. It fell NT $33 in a single week, down 7.25%. Its market value shrank NT $855.7 billion to NT $10.94 trillion.

CTOnews.com learned that despite the recent stock price volatility of TSMC, investors continue to rush in. According to statistics, the number of TSMC shareholders reached 1,417,505 on September 30, an increase of 11,092 from 1,406,413 on September 23, another record high.

U.S. stocks closed lower again on September 30. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 500.1 points, or 1.71 percent; the Nasdaq fell 161.89 points, or 1.51 percent; and the Philadelphia semiconductor index fell 40.667 points, or 1.73 percent.

TSMC's American Depositary Receipts (ADR) fell 0.72 US dollars, or 1.04%, to close at 68.56 US dollars, setting a new low in the band. TSMC reached NT $417 in early trading, down NT $5, and its market value shrank NT $129.6 billion to NT $10.81 trillion, affecting the market by about 41 points.
