CTOnews.com, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) Samsung has faced serious battery problems before, and Samsung Galaxy Note7 phones were eventually recalled on a large scale. Recently, several reviewers and YouTube users reported that the batteries in their old Samsung phones had begun to expand.

"it is exposed that the batteries of many old models of Samsung mobile phones are inflated / bulged."

Media sammobile and GalaxyClub have collectively verified more than 100 Galaxy phones lying in office and home drawers. The results showed that there was no battery expansion / drum phenomenon in these phones.

So far, Samsung has not responded and has not explained why this happened.

Sammobile said it checked about 50 Galaxy phones and GalaxyClub verified about 60 devices. In total, more than 100 old Samsung mid-range and high-end Galaxy phones have been verified. Surprisingly, none of the phones showed the problem of battery expansion. An older Galaxy S4 model has a thicker battery, but there is no significant battery expansion problem, GalaxyClub said.

Sammobile also said it was not clear exactly where the root cause was. The conditions in which they store the equipment may ensure a longer life. "We had previously kept these devices in a moderate temperature (about 20 degrees Celsius) and well-ventilated environment." In addition, these old Samsung mobile devices will not be recharged for more than a year, CTOnews.com learned.

While thankfully there is no problem with the battery drum, sammobile recommends that if you have any stored old Samsung Galaxy phones, be sure to check the battery.
