Right-clicking the ISO file provides options to verify its integrity. The authentication tool will pop up, and if it is a Linux Mint or Ubuntu file, the URL of the SHA256sum and GNU privacy protection (GPG) files will be automatically filled in for inspection-all the user has to do is click the verify button. If there is nothing wrong with ISO, users will see a pop-up message saying, "everything looks fine," and ISO is the official image.

In addition to validating ISO, the team is also developing USB Image Writer tools. The validation button opens the validation tool, which is detected if the user attempts to write to the Windows ISO and provides a link to write to the Windows image because more steps are required.

The Linux Mint team also announced that the upcoming version, and later versions, will begin to hide the computer, home page, recycle bin, and web desktop icons by default. They are hidden because they are easily accessible in other ways and will provide cleaner desktops. Although these shortcuts are hidden, users can still place them on the desktop and access the installed drive from here. If you want to restore any hidden icons, users can do the same.
