CTOnews.com, October 2 (Xinhua)-- companies that use Square as payment processing can now use the company's end-of-sale application to use pay-per-click on iPhone.

In June 2022, Square announced that it would bring support for click-to-pay and launched an early access program for enterprises.

Any Square merchant with iPhone compatibility can accept contactless payments by opening the Square app, entering sales information, and giving their iPhone to the buyer. The buyer then completes the payment by choosing contactless payment methods, such as Apple Pay, contactless debit or credit cards, or App Store's digital wallet.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple announced the "pay-on-click" feature on iPhone in February 2022. Apart from iPhone and iOS applications that support this feature, it does not require any additional hardware, and the feature is limited to merchants in the United States.

This payment function requires an iPhone XS or higher phone. It is not clear that the minimum iOS software requirements for click-to-pay may be iPhone XS's iOS 12 and update. For various applications that work with this feature, there will also be minimum iOS version requirements.

Other payment processors working with Apple to launch the feature include Stripe, GoDaddy and Chase. Apple iPhone click pay will also be launched in Apple Store retail stores in the United States by the end of 2022.
