CTOnews.com reported on October 1 that the Magic Leap 2 will go on sale on September 30, starting at $3299 (about 23522 yuan). The hybrid reality device, which succeeds Magic Leap in 2018, is about 20% lighter and 50% smaller than its predecessor, has a wider perspective, but costs more.

In terms of pricing, Magic Leap 2 will be available in three versions:

Magic Leap 2 Base Edition basic Edition $3299 (about 23522 yuan)

Magic Leap 2 Developer Pro is $4099 (about 29226 yuan)

Magic Leap 2 Enterprise Enterprise Edition is $4999 (about 35643 yuan)

It is reported that Magic Leap has provided Magic Leap 2 to a limited number of partners, including neurotechnology company SyncThink and other medical companies.

The head is available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and will be launched in Japan and Singapore at the end of 2022.

The $3299 "basic" package includes a head display and a limited warranty, the $4099 "developer Professional" package increases opportunities for developing software tools and access to early software versions, and the $4999 "Enterprise" package includes quarterly software updates and management tools that are visible throughout the organization.

CTOnews.com learned that the shape of the Magic Leap 2 was basically the same as that of the previous generation, using a split design, but slimmed down and reduced its weight from 316g to 260g. The monocular resolution is 1440 x 1760, the refresh rate is 120Hz, and the field of view angle is expanded to 70 degrees.

In terms of performance, the performance of CPU and GPU is 2 to 3 times more powerful than that of the previous generation, with stronger storage capacity and battery life, and can be used continuously for 3.5 hours, officials say. In addition, Magic Leap 2 will be equipped with more than 18 cameras and sensors: including 1 ambient light sensor, 2 altimeters, 2 magnetometers, 4 IMU (including 2 integrated in head display, 1 integrated in handle, 1 integrated in computing unit)

It is worth mentioning that Magic Leap stressed that the head display is for businesses, not consumers, and that the product is completely different from competitors from companies such as Meta or HTC.
