CTOnews.com, Oct. 1, according to Dealreporter, Jim Ryan, president and representative director of Sony PlayStation Interactive Entertainment, flew to Brussels (EU headquarters) on Sept. 8 to meet with EU regulators who are currently reviewing Microsoft's proposed $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

As rumored, Sony is worried about the deal, mainly because of future release plans for the call of Duty series and whether it will be removed from their platform. CTOnews.com learned that the call of Duty series is usually PlayStation's best seller of the year.

The source also revealed that Google also expressed concern to EU regulators.

In a filing on Friday, the European competition regulator confirmed that it had set November 8 as a temporary deadline for approving the $68.7 billion deal, otherwise it would choose to proceed to the second phase of a more detailed investigation.

Last month, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, said that after Sony's current marketing agreement with Activision expired, Microsoft promised that the call of Duty series would stay on PlayStation for a few more years (beyond Sony's existing contract with Activision), and that future "call of Duty" games would be launched on PS on the first day.

However, Jim Ryan, chief executive of SIE, wanted to gain access to the future call of Duty on equal terms and in a permanent manner, publicly responding that Microsoft's proposal to keep the series on PlayStation consoles was "inadequate on many levels".
