CTOnews.com, Oct. 1 (Xinhua)-- Sony officially launched a new loyalty program called "PlayStation Stars" on Thursday, which allows players to receive digital collections, rebates and other awards.

The program has been launched in Asia and will land in the Americas and Europe in October. According to Video Games Chronicle, advanced players in the PlayStation Stars program will receive preferential treatment when facing customer service. As a result, a large number of Japanese players expressed dissatisfaction and protest.

For this, many Japanese players find it difficult to understand, they think that customer service should treat everyone fairly, not because some buy more games, play more games, can jump the queue in front of others.

CTOnews.com has reported that adult PlayStation Network account holders can join the program for free and do not require PlayStation Plus membership, but there are additional benefits to having membership.

PlayStation Stars is divided into four levels, of which level 4 requires at least four new game masterpieces and 128 rare trophies to be unlocked.

According to Sony, level 4 privileged users will receive a commemorative collection and a promise that "priority will be given in chat order when contacting PlayStation customer support".

To put it simply, if you are a level 4 user, when you apply for customer service assistance with others at the same time, customer service will give priority to provide services for you, so as to avoid waiting in line.

After Automaton pointed this out on Twitter, many Japanese users expressed their disappointment with the policy, some of whom pointed out that good customer service should be a standard, not something you have to spend more to have.
