Beijing, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) Apple CEO Tim Cook (Tim Cook) is currently visiting Europe. In his latest interview with Dutch media, he focused on augmented reality (AR), the importance of learning programming and climate change. As for the concept of meta-universe, which is currently under hot speculation, he thinks that ordinary people may not be able to figure out what meta-universe is.

As for AR, Cook explained that although there are already many different AR applications on App Store, the technology still has "a lot of room for development." I think AR is a far-reaching technology that will affect everything. Imagine that we can suddenly teach with AR and demonstrate something in this way, or medical applications, and so on. Like I said, we really have to look back and think about how we lived without AR. " He said.

More interesting, however, is Cook's comments on meta-universe. Other companies, such as Meta, the parent company of Facebook, are doubling their bets on meta-universe, but Cook believes that ordinary people probably don't even know what "meta-universe is". "I always think it's important for people to understand what something is. I'm really not sure if ordinary people can tell you what a meta-universe is." He explained.

Apple is currently working on its AR and virtual reality (VR) headsets, which are expected to be brought to market in 2023. Apple may also release AR glasses in 2024. But Cook also reiterated his most common idea that VR may be good, but it's not a "lifetime" way.
