In the official Windows 11 Health Dashboard documentation, Microsoft confirms that there is a problem connecting the printer to the Windows 11 22H2 when the installed printer uses a Microsoft IPP class driver or a universal print class driver and is installed on a Windows device.

Windows needs to be connected to the printer to recognize all the functions of the printer, and in the absence of a connection, the printer prints using the default settings. After the connection is restored, the printer may still not be able to use specific features (such as color, duplex / duplex printing, paper size or type settings, or resolutions higher than 300x300dpi).

Microsoft said it has prevented all computers that use Microsoft IPP class drivers or universal print class drivers from updating to Windows 11 22H2, and even if the printer is fine, the system will not update to 22H2.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft is currently looking for a solution. If you have to upgrade to Windows 11 22H2, the temporary solution is to delete incompatible printers and the system can find Windows 11 22H2 within 48 hours.
