CTOnews.com Sept. 29, Samsung has now released a new firmware update for Galaxy Watch 3. This update brings a new dial for the first time in the Galaxy Watch 5 series, as well as new features for health tracking and snoring detection.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is pushing the firmware version R8x0XXU1DVH4 (Tizen 5.5.0.2). Such updates are usually released instantly around the world, which users can check manually. According to Samsung's official update log, two new dials have been added to the smartwatch: gradient digital and professional analog. These dials will also be provided to Galaxy Watch Active 2 watches.

Daily activity indicators now help better synchronize data between Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy Watch 3. Samsung also added snoring detection to Galaxy Watch 3. However, it requires the phone's microphone to work properly, so the user must stay close to the phone while sleeping. By contrast, this feature works on Galaxy Watch 5 without the need for a cell phone microphone.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung watches abandoned the Tizen system in favor of Wear OS 3 on Galaxy Watch 4 (and later). But Samsung promised to continue to release new features and software updates for the old smartwatch, including Galaxy Watch Active 2 and Galaxy Watch 3.
