CTOnews.com learned that the latest data released by the U.S. Department of Energy show that 17 electric vehicles have achieved fuel efficiency of 100 miles per gallon or more. MPGe stands for the "fuel economy" of electric vehicles. The energy content of 33.7kwh (kWh) is equivalent to that of a gallon of fuel, and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) also uses it to measure the efficiency of electric vehicles.

Data show that there are 17 electric vehicles in the United States that can achieve 100MPGe or higher, among which the basic Tesla Model 3 rear wheel drive (RWD) version is the most energy efficient, reaching 132MPGe, which is equivalent to 132miles per gallon of gasoline. The fuel consumption standard commonly used in China is about 1.78L / 100KM, which can be said to be very economical.

The Model 3 was followed by the Lucid Air, an all-electric luxury car whose data showed that the Lucid Air achieved 131MPGe fuel efficiency. In third place is Model Y, with an energy efficiency of 129 MPGe.

Tesla's other two flagship cars, the Model S and the Model X, also achieved significant energy efficiency data, with the Model S at 120 MPGe and the Model X at 102 MPGe.
