According to reports, up to now, the new civil buildings in Shanghai have fully implemented the mandatory standards for green buildings, with a total of 315 million square meters of green buildings and 652 million square meters of energy-saving buildings. The energy-saving renovation of existing buildings has been carried out steadily, with a total implementation of 43.72 million square meters. The construction method has changed, and prefabricated buildings account for more than 90% of new construction projects. Green and low-carbon transportation was promoted in depth, promoting a total of 820000 new energy vehicles and building 588000 charging piles of various types.

According to data released by the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau in July, by the end of June 2022, the number of new energy vehicles in Shanghai had reached 710000, accounting for 15.74 percent of the total. Among them, the number of pure electric vehicles is 380000, accounting for 53.52% of the total number of new energy vehicles. 85692 new energy vehicles were newly registered in the first half of the year, a decrease of 47436 or 32.01% compared with the new registration in the first half of last year. The new registration of new energy vehicles accounts for 45.10% of the new registration of vehicles.

Qiu Wenjin, deputy director of the Shanghai Development and Reform Commission, said that in the first half of 2022, the output value of new energy vehicles in Shanghai reached 103.2 billion yuan, an increase of 57.2 percent over the same period last year, making it the fastest growing strategic emerging industry, according to CTOnews.com.
