CTOnews.com Sept. 29, Microsoft recently released Visual Studio for Mac 2022 Preview 2 after the release of Visual Studio for Mac 17.4 Preview 2 two weeks ago. The second preview of Visual Studio for Mac 17.4 is designed to address customer feedback and enhance the user experience.

CTOnews.com learned that the new version of Visual Studio for Mac 17.4 brings many updates, including click to restart debugging, shell improvements, editor improvements, no installation of Rosetta, and improved support for the upcoming .NET 7.

The Visual Studio for Mac 17.4 toolbar now has a new restart button (round arrow icon) that users can click while debugging. With the return of the Class tool window, users can now drag and drop documents again into a side-by-side editor or drag them out into a floating window. The new UI in the editor provides an improved experience for users.

In addition, users do not need to enable Rosetta to install Visual Studio for Mac;, but in some cases Rosetta is required and will be prompted if it is not already enabled. Visual Studio for Mac 17.4's enhanced support for the upcoming .NET 7 release in November also includes .NET MAUI applications built using .NET 7.
