CTOnews.com September 29 news, everyone may have encountered occupancy prompts when using the Windows system to delete files, showing "the file is in use", but they do not know what process is occupying the file, so it is a headache.

Recently, a feature called "File Locksmith (file locksmith)" has been submitted on the GitHub of Microsoft Windows 11 Compact 10 free tool set PowerToys. As the name implies, this function can help unlock files occupied by processes during Windows use and support one-click removal of occupied processes. The early design is shown in the following figure.

As can be seen from the figure, users can right-click on the file or folder and select the "what is occupying this file" option to view the relevant processes and users. At present, the function is still under discussion, and the UI and functional design may be constantly changing.

Microsoft's free system utility suite called PowerToys has been revived from the Windows XP era and introduced Windows 10 in May 2019. Can be used for advanced users to adjust and simplify Windows operations to improve efficiency. Used in conjunction with Windows 10/Windows 11 shell while allowing users to customize individual workflows.
