On September 28, according to foreign media reports, Gautam Gautam Adani, the second richest man in the world and chairman of India's Adani Group, said at the Forbes Global CEO Conference on Tuesday that he would bet heavily on green energy.

Mr Adani said he would invest more than $100 billion in capital over the next decade, 70 per cent of which would be invested in a comprehensive hydrogen-based green industrial chain.

Under the investment plan, Adani, currently the world's largest solar developer, will increase its 45GW hybrid renewable energy capacity and build three gigawatt-scale plants to produce solar panels, wind turbines and hydrogen reduction cells. Adani points out that the group now has a 20 gigawatt portfolio of renewable energy. The proposed addition of 45 gigawatts of renewable energy generation capacity in the new investment plan will cover 100000 hectares of land, equivalent to 1.4 times the size of Singapore.

The goal is to become one of the cheapest producers of green electricity and green hydrogen, opening up the possibility of India becoming a net exporter of energy, he added.

In addition, he talked about the ambition of digital transformation. Adani says India's data center market is exploding, consuming more energy than any other industry. Building a green data center will change the rules of the game.

The group plans to connect its data centers with submarine cables to provide 100% green power to the data centers, and will create a consumer-based super application that will bring hundreds of millions of Adani B2C consumers to a common digital platform.
