CTOnews.com, September 28 (Xinhua)-- Geely's high-performance electric car brand Polestar announced that it will launch its first electric SUV Polestar 3 in Copenhagen, Denmark, on October 12. In the future, the Star 3 will be the first model made in China and the United States at the same time.

Polar Star 3 positioning luxury high-performance pure electric SUV, with unique styling design and excellent driving control performance, based on the new pure electric vehicle platform development, the application of the latest high-tech hardware, and developed a series of industry-leading safety technologies and systems.

The parameters of the new car are extremely luxurious, involving the world's top suppliers, such as Nvidia, Luminar, Zenseact, Smart Eye, the dual-motor version of the maximum power 380kW, peak torque of 910Nm, will achieve performance close to the Model X P100D in the SUV class; the single-motor version will be equipped with a P10 super motor.

Polar 3 will also be equipped with adaptive dual-cavity air suspension and active shock absorbers, so that the vehicle can dynamically adjust the soft and hard degree of the shock absorber, adjusting the shock absorber every two milliseconds (500 Hz) to adapt to different road conditions.

The Polar 3 active shock absorber and air suspension are also adjusted exclusively by the Polestar Engineered team, and the valve covers, seat belts and laser-etched interior light belts will all use Polar's iconic "Swedish gold" color.

Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polar Star, previously said the model would be priced between 75000 euros (507000 yuan) and 110000 euros (743600 yuan).

"this is a SUV that everyone will like, and it also has excellent aerodynamic design and provides a very good driving experience," Ingenlath said. "this is not a car to take children to kindergarten."

The Polestar 3 will be produced at Volvo's new US plant near Charleston, S.C., with Volvo's new flagship SUV, both of which will use the new SPA2 pure electric platform. The platform supports dual motors and larger batteries, which gives the Polestar 3 a range of up to 600km in WLTP conditions.

CTOnews.com has learned that Polar sees the SUV as an electric competitor to Porsche Cayenne, which is not expected to be delivered until at least the first quarter of 2023.

In addition to Polestar 3, the company will launch Polestar 4 in 2023, a new Porsche Macan in 2023, and Polar Star plans to launch Polestar 5 in 2024.
