Tesla Semi, an all-electric Class 8 truck, was released as early as 2017, when officials expected delivery as soon as 2019, but it was clearly delayed for many years. Tesla CEO Elon Musk unexpectedly revealed on social networking sites last month that Tesla's 500-mile (804.67 km) version of the Semi truck will begin delivery this year.

Musk did not give a specific delivery time, but now it seems to be not far away, as netizens have found several Tesla Semi electric trucks transported on other trucks across the United States.

Tesla has said that he will be the first customer of Semi trucks and plans to use the car in his own business to reduce fuel costs. In fact, Tesla already uses Semi's early prototypes in its operations, especially between the Gigafactory and Fremont plants in Nevada.

Tesla has been taking orders for Semi trucks five years ago, with a deposit of up to $20000 per truck. It is understood that the company currently has thousands of pre-orders for electric trucks, and several large companies among its customers, including Wal-Mart and PepsiCo.

Although Tesla has deployed Semi truck production in Nevada, the production is quite low, and Tesla is expected to put the car into mass production at Gigafactory, Texas, next year. Tesla has never announced the planned production capacity of Semi trucks, but is expected to produce tens of thousands of trucks a year.

CTOnews.com learned that the 4-motor version of the Semi electric truck adopts a 6 × 4 drive type, which is driven by four independent motors and is distributed on two rear axles with a horsepower of 1100 horsepower. Under the condition of 36 tons of cargo, the acceleration time of 0-100km is about 20 seconds, which is about half of the acceleration time of traditional trucks.

In terms of price, the 480km version sells for $150000 (975000 yuan) and the 800km version sells for $180000 (1.17 million yuan).
