CTOnews.com, September 28 (Xinhua)-- Intel quietly launched its game resolution oversampling technology XeSS after today's release of the 13th generation of Courier and A770. XeSS has been released on GitHub and supported by Tomb Raider: shadow.

According to the update announcement on the Steam game page, Tomb Raider: shadow now supports enabling XeSS oversampling under DX12.

According to previous tests conducted by foreign media Digital Foundry, XeSS can increase the number of frames of Tomb Raider: shadow by 52% to 88% in performance mode and 177% in 3DMark XeSS tests with ray tracing.

In addition, Intel XeSS supports not only its own sharp graphics cards, but also AMD Radeon and Nvidia GeForce graphics cards. Foreign media CapFrameX tested it with AMD Radeon RX 6800XT in Tomb Raider: shadow to confirm that the technology works properly.

CTOnews.com learned that Intel XeSS only launched SDK on GitHub, which can be adapted by game developers, but it is not yet open source.
