Thank CTOnews.com netizens non-Shadow Q for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, Sept. 28 (Xinhua)-- Industrial CT developer Lumafield today shared a CT scan of Apple's AirPods Pro 2 charging box, which seems to reveal some hidden designs.

Although the basic internal layout looks similar to that of the original, Lumafield found that the newly added lanyard hole in the headset box is internally connected to the Lightning interface, which is connected to the logic board, so it is speculated that the lanyard hole may be used as an antenna for the U1 chip or for other additional uses.

There is a new metal hole in the side of the headphone box, which Apple says is used for hanging ropes, but it seems to have an additional use: it has a 4mm wide and 18mm long extension connected to the metal pad around the Lightning interface, perhaps it is an antenna that supports improved "Find My" tracking.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple's U1 chip supports Find My, allowing users to track the location of headset boxes in Find My apps on iPhone or iCloud.com. The headset box also has a new built-in speaker that can sound to help find it.

Other improvements to Apple's AirPods Pro 2 headset box include waterproof, Apple Watch-enabled magnetic charger and longer battery life.
