CTOnews.com, September 27 (Xinhua) Samsung Electronics leads the local PC market in South Korea with a majority share. Samsung reoccupied South Korea's PC market this year, maintaining its dominant position in the country's PC sector, according to IDC, a research firm.

This year, Samsung leads the South Korean PC market with a market share of 26.9%. It includes sales of portable PC (notebook computers) and desktop computers. Data show that Samsung has maintained a leading position in the domestic PC market in recent years, thanks to the Galaxy Book series launched in August 2019.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung PC had a 26.3% market share in 2019 and 26.9% of the PC market a year later. Samsung PC accounted for 27.8% of the Korean market in 2021.

The interesting fact is that Samsung has been leading the Korean PC market since 1995. The company has been at the top of the field for 27 years and shows no sign of slowing down. South Korea is one of Samsung's dominant markets, surpassing even Apple and its line of macOS computers and laptops.

Now there are rumors that Samsung is developing its first laptop with folding screen technology. Market watchers expect such folding-screen laptops to go on sale in 2023.
