On September 27, Dan Ives, a well-known Apple analyst and investment bank analyst at Wade Bush, said in an interview on Monday that the market demand for Apple's iPhone 14 series smartphones was "stronger than that of the iPhone 13."

Investors' growing fears of a recession have put Apple shares under as much downward pressure as other stocks. But the launch of the new iPhone and Apple Watch could turn that around. According to Ives, the two new products seem to show strong demand from the start.

Consumer demand for Apple's high-end models is particularly strong. Mr Ives estimates that 85 to 90 per cent of advance orders for new iPhone are iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

"in terms of average selling prices, this demand is very strong and I think it will be 8 to 10 per cent higher than iPhone 13," Mr Ives said in an interview. "although demand growth is narrowing, at least so far, I think supply is more important than demand."

On Sept. 7, Apple unveiled the iPhone 14 series of smartphones at the company's headquarters. the products are available for pre-sale on Sept. 9, and consumers can pick them up at the store on the 16th. Shipments of the new AirPods Pro Apple headphones and Apple Watch Ultra Apple Watch began on September 23.

Other analysts seem to agree with Mr. Ives, who agree that early demand for Apple's new products is strong.

"demand has been strong since the launch of the new iPhone," JPMorgan analyst Samick Chatterjee (Samik Chatterjee) wrote in a report. The agency market still prefers Pro models as much as last year, but the delivery time of both new Pro models has been extended compared with last year. " The lead time of the iPhone 14 series smartphones began to extend one day after the product release, compared with the average lead time of the Phone 13 series smartphones only a week after the product release. From the date of delivery, the market demand for other new products such as Apple Watch Ultra is also quite strong. "

Chatterjee added that the new Apple Watch Ultra, which sells for $800, is also off to a good start.

Although the initial data were good for Apple, Apple's share price was hit hard by the September sell-off. Apple shares have fallen about 8 per cent in the past month and 15 per cent so far this year.

Mr Ives thinks the pullback may be too much.
