However, if you find the content and animation distracting, you can remove their display by swiping the smart island to the left or right, and this will not affect any related application background activities.

For example, if an album in Apple Music is playing, you can remove the display of content such as audio waveforms in Smart Island by swiping left or right, while the concert continues to play backstage. By the same token, if the display of the smart island timer is removed, it will still count down in the background even if it is no longer visible on the smart island.

If there are two backstage activities on Smart Island and you want to remove one or two, you can use the same sliding gesture in the larger part to make it disappear. Then, in the same way, slide to cancel the remaining background activity.

After removing all app activity display content from Smart Island, the pill shape will return to its previous inert state, allowing you to fully focus on the rest of the screen.
