Wal-Mart's first entry into the VR world has brought airships that can throw toys, music festivals that bring together popular artists, games and virtual goods, as well as "Wal-Mart Land" and "Universe of Play" experiences.

Wal-Mart is clearly looking for new ways to reach shoppers after the pandemic changed consumers' shopping habits and the way they interact with social media, App and gaming sites, which is one of the reasons Wall adjusted its strategy.

Wal-Mart has been engaged in direct delivery in TikTok, Twitter and YouTube. Not only that, Wal-Mart has partnered with Meredith, Parents and Better Homes & Gardens to create vegetarian recipes, and it has launched AR tools at Pinterest to help consumers choose furniture and accessories.

Wal-Mart Chief Marketing Officer William White (William White) said that Wal-Mart is considering entering meta-universe and will continue to go further in the future. Roblox is just an experimental field. He explained that the newly designed meta-universe experience takes into account the next generation of shoppers, especially Generation Z, which is about 25 years old or younger. Wal-Mart hopes to learn something new through cooperation. White admits that Wal-Mart doesn't make money in meta-universe now, but it will in the future.

At the beginning of the year, Wal-Mart applied for metacosmos-related trademarks, and some trademarks suggested that Wal-Mart wanted to make and sell virtual goods, provide virtual currency to users, and involve NFT.

Roblox now has a market capitalization of about $21.2 billion, but its shares have fallen 60 per cent this year. With the growth of the number of Roblox users, more and more retailers and brands are entering.
