Test No. 16 An and B satellites were developed by the eighth Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, while Test No. 17 satellite was developed by the Fifth Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. This group of satellites are mainly used in land census, urban planning, disaster prevention and reduction and other fields.

According to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Group, the long March 6 carrier rocket adopted kerosene advance filling technology for the first time in this mission, further optimizing the work efficiency of the test team.
