The online share continues to increase, and the profit opportunities are getting bigger and bigger. In the future, the combination of online and offline warehouse stores is the most promising way to see profit opportunities."
Since the establishment of the strategic positioning of "omni-channel digital retail platform based on freshness and customer-centered", Yonghui has taken omni-channel business as the development direction and relied on "store + home" business to serve the needs of different customer groups in different shopping scenarios.
It is understood that Yonghui's next "to the store + to home" omni-channel strategy can be divided into two points.
For the arrival business, Yonghui will continuously optimize the existing stores, that is, to enhance the profitability of the stores by comprehensively enhancing the operating capacity, optimizing the commodity mix, improving the service experience and so on. Among them, taking into account the differences in the age of online and offline customers, stores will pay more attention to offline young family customers and elderly customers in the future, matching corresponding brands, goods, display, marketing and services.
For home-to-home business, Yonghui will promote the "warehouse-in-one" model in some core cities to enhance its basic capabilities, including commodity supply chain, performance efficiency and quality, service and experience, warehouse-end transformation, organization team and mechanism reform. At present, Yonghui has identified 10 core cities across the country as the key development cities of Yonghui's home business in 2023, based on infrastructure and store coverage. In the future, combined with the actual situation of stores in each city, full-warehouse, half-warehouse, independent warehouse and other models will be established to promote the sustainable development of online business.
From the perspective of basic advantages and model characteristics, Yonghui adopts the "warehouse-store-in-one" model, which comes from Yonghui's accumulated advantages in stores, logistics, supply chain and science and technology investment.
First of all, from the store advantages, Yonghui has more than a thousand stores in the country, and the infrastructure is relatively perfect. At the same time, as Yonghui's external display window, these stores can reduce the customer cost of Yonghui's home business. Relying on the existing advantages of warehouse resources, when the "warehouse-in-one" model runs in a single city, it can also be quickly copied to other cities.
Secondly, the resource advantages of Yonghui logistics and supply chain can continue to empower the home business. As of June 2022, Yonghui Logistics has set up 34 distribution centers throughout the country, providing services in 29 provinces (municipalities) and autonomous regions, with an average daily throughput of more than 35000 tons. Under the guidance of the main line of "one plate of goods" and "one system", Yonghui provinces and regions can build a supply chain with provincial characteristics combined with local market preferences.
Under the guidance of the strategy of "Science and Technology Yonghui", the continuously increasing investment in science and technology has also laid the foundation for the development of home business. Up to now, Yonghui's business has completed the construction of online standard warehouse, digital commodity inventory management, digital store employment and other infrastructure construction, basically realizing the "integration of purchase, sales and storage", that is, automatically issuing and dispatching tasks through the digital system, automatic replenishment, and reducing the loss of fresh products. Through the system to send picking tasks automatically and accurately, the digital store employment system can also shorten the picking time and improve the picking quality.
It is worth mentioning that in Fuzhou, where the new model of home-to-home business was piloted earlier, the profit model of "the integration of warehouses and stores" has been verified.
It is understood that up to now, Yonghui has completed the reconstruction of 35 high-bid warehouses in Fuzhou, with an operating area of between 800,000 and 1000 square meters. Products in the warehouse cover fresh, food, daily chemical, processed food and other categories, product SKU up to 7000-8000.
From the coverage point of view, each warehouse can radiate a range of 3 kilometers, and most of the warehouses are located close to the stores, which can form a synergistic effect with the stores. Up to now, the peak volume of some warehouses in Yonghui Fuzhou area is about 7000-8000. The average daily volume of the whole Fuzhou area reaches 100,000, and the warehouse-end business basically breaks even.
Yonghui relevant person in charge revealed that currently in Fuzhou regional pilot, Yonghui is still around the "warehouse-shop integration" model to continue to promote the reconstruction of high-bid warehouses, is expected to eventually build 50 high-bid warehouses in the core main city. For other key cities under planning, Yonghui will further cultivate commodities and performance capabilities, cultivate rich commodity power and high-quality performance services into the core competitiveness of online business, and at the same time achieve leapfrog growth and improve business quality through full-warehouse model and second-generation warehouse optimization, while seeking high growth while ensuring the health and sustainability of the business.
